R. Ryan. 202 posts · Joined 2004. #2 · Dec 26, 2007. You probably have your friction rings set for light loads. Remove the forearm and look in the forearm to see if there is a picture of how the rings are supposed to go. I think there is a sticky on the Browning lovers forum about this. C.
Browning A5 cycling problems. I have an A5 that I bought used about 4 months ago that cycled fine when I got it. Now it will load and fire first shot but once second shot is loaded into chamber, I cant even pull the trigger without switching the saftey on and themn back off. A5Mag12. 2737 posts · Joined 2004. #11 · Oct 16, 2007. Set up for 2 3/4" shells your gun should shoot 2 3/4" 1 1/4oz lead loads just fine. This is also the setting for shooting all steel shells even 3". The magnum setting is for lead or other heavy type shot 1 1/2 oz or heavier.

New to the forum with a Browning Auto-5 story and question: My father bought the shotgun while serving at the end of the Korean war. Based on the serial # it is a 1954 or 1955 Belgian made humpback. It has had countless hunting trips with my father.

As was mentioned above, there's rarely a reason to totally disassemble an auto-5. It's easy to take the stock off to get to the return spring, and trigger assembly out, and barrel off, and recoil spring assembly. You just need a good set of screwdrivers to keep from buggering up the screw heads.New Browning A5 feeding issue A few months ago I purchased a new Browning a5 in 16ga.
